Do you find it hard to make other artist friends? I'm lonely in art spaces and I have no idea where to start. It seems like you have a good circle around you, so I thought I'd ask bc everyone I ever meet are weird or rotten.

Yes, I absolutely find it hard. For a few reasons: 1.) I'm naturally shy and for some dumb reason it extends to my online self as well. 2.) I am naturally reclusive and prone to bouts of isolation which is not very helpful in making or maintaining friendships. 3.) I go by my own pace, I'm usually busy, and I value my IRL obligations and working on my hobbies individually over online stuff like servers, group chats, discourse, etc.
It's important to surround yourself with people that understand you, and vice versa. The friends that I do have are understanding of me and my reclusive nature or they are quite the same themselves! I also don't enjoy being around people that need constant attention.
I guess my only advice is to keep trying, and also to filter out who you want to befriend by what you see of their lives or interests on their websites or soc med profiles. For me, it was finding other adult women who were employed, educated, or actively in school to communicate with - art, webdev, and other hobbies in common came second. I also highly value people who are passionate about their interests, mostly others that like to create versus people that only like to consume.

hiiii I randomly found your website and I think it's so cool! I guess I just don't meet a lot of people outside my age but I never actually thought people who had jobs and fiancees and houses would make their own OCs and neocities pages. All your CSS is so pretty as well I have to admit I'm a little jealous of how everything fits together so nicely!

Thank you for the kind words :o) I've been interested in drawing, OCs, and niche web communities since I was a young girl - interests hardly ever leave us as we age. ^^ Granted, I am not that old (IMO lol) but I am 1000% an advocate for keeping hobbies and interests even as we grow gray! After all, the characters of movies, TV shows, and books we all enjoy started out as OCs for people that are probably 30+ ;) Thanks again for the kind words and have a lovely day!

I was looking at MLP art and wanted to draw her as a pony. No other reason then that lol. I *should* draw her as a cow though, for sure. Maybe one day!

Hello dear nonnie! I create 10000% for myself. Before I was uploading anything online, I still had notebooks and files filled with writing and OC scribbles for my eyes only. I genuinely find joy and pleasure in drawing and writing things for myself. Same with my website, I put a lot of work into it because I like surfing my own pages lol.
I suggest detoxing from social media completely if you have a hard time with metrics. Easier said than done, I know. Good luck!

What program do you use for your pixel art?
I use Procreate or MS Paint like a crazy person! I know there are dedicated pixel art programs but I'm too lazy to learn them rn.
